I'm still sort of new to this being a published writer lark. I started off writing fanfic in the 80s, and my first book was published in 2004. I'm still very excited by it all. The Opposite of Life has been my most successful book so far, though it's still kind of low key now. Momentum is building, which is nice.

Anyway, I can't tell you how extremely thrilled and excited and gobsmacked I was that monkeycrackmary wrote a fanfic based on my universe and the FOB Sixteen Candles video. Vampire-hunter Patrick and my own nerdy Gary meeting made for a whole lot of heaven, especially since Mary is such a good writer.  Read that gorgeous piece of fic here.

So imagine my jumping-up-and-down-squealing joy to receive this image from awesome artist _audrey. I mean, lookatit!! She's got that look on his face so right! That "I'm not getting it and it worries me" look he gets sometimes. It's priceless and perfect!
